En el marco del Día de la Mujer Mexicana, que tiene la finalidad de crear conciencia en la población sobre la importancia de la igualdad de género se realizó la conferencia magistral de la Ley Olímpia, donde la proponente e impulsora a nivel nacional Olímpia Coral Melo habló respecto a este instrumento legal que protege la intimidad sexual ejercida ya sea contra una mujer o un hombre.

“Ley Olimpia  y violencia digital: porque queremos estar seguras también en internet” fue el título de la Conferencia magistral, donde Olímpia Coral Melo destacó, los avances y retos a los que nos enfrentamos principalmente las mujeres en el acceso a la justicia, cuando se comete violencia digital.

Coral Melo habló del sexting y la violencia digital, colonización digital como una manera de dominación contra las mujeres a través de las nuevas tecnologías de la información.

Así mismo destacó la importancia de contar con este instrumento legal que no solo es una reforma, sino una causa. “Queremos que se sensibilice, se prevenga y se erradique esta violencia, queremos estar seguras en internet. Que quede claro que lo virtual es real”, señaló.

También durante su participación acotó que es importante, visibilizar la manera en la que está violencia afecta a mujeres, especialmente a niñas y niños, la violencia digital y el ciberacoso dañan la intimidad, la dignidad y vida privada, de mujeres especialmente, pero también pueden ser perjudicados hombres.

Está importante conferencia fue transmitida a través de Facebook Live de la Diputda Hilda Luis, quién además fue la organizadora en coordinación con Yolanda Santos Montaño, Indira Zurita, Tania Caballero e Ivette Morga de la 4T y la Fundación Papachoa A.C.

En su mensaje la legisladora Hilda Luis recordó que en nuestro Estado, en Julio de 2019 se aprobaron reformas al Código Penal de la entidad para sancionar a aquella persona que por cualquier
medio divulgue, comparta, distribuya, publique y/o solicite imágenes, audios o videos de una persona desnuda parcial o totalmente de contenido íntimo, erótico o sexual, ya sea impreso, grabado o digital, sin el consentimiento de la víctima, mejor conocida como Ley Olimpia.

Finalmente la congresista destacó que la Ley Olímpia se ha aprobado en 27 Estados, entre ellos Oaxaca.
