Con antecedentes en 1970 a través de una manifestación, pero establecido el 22 de abril del año 2009 por organismos internacionales, el Colectivo de Organizaciones Ambientalistas de Oaxaca (COAO) y ciudadanía organizada, se unen a esta conmemoración mundial a través del performance (actuación) con la temática “agua… cero” este jueves a las 10 am en el Quiosco del Zócalo de la cuidad. En Oaxaca hay señales de alerta de deterioro ambiental galopante, un ejemplo claro es la escasez de agua por estiaje prolongado y gran sequía por temperaturas cada vez más cálidas; este y otros problemas ambientales, se están agudizando por apatía de la sociedad y una clase política ignorante en el tema.
