  10. Whether you want to update your kitchen, redo your bathroom, finish a basement or do some other home renovations, budgeting for a remodel can be tricky. Here are 3 ways to help you determine your home remodeling costs. The HomeTech manual contains over 300 pages of the items remodelers use most. Our research staff is constantly studying new installation practices and researching new materials in order to update and add to the over 3,000 items in the manual. You can be sure that if remodelers do it, it’s in the manual! For a comprehensive guide to estimating, read our post: “Construction Cost Estimating: The Basics and Beyond.” You’ll get a thorough overview of the process, including the purpose of cost estimating, the elements of a construction cost estimate, steps to take, best practices, and software considerations. You’ll also get access to a variety of related templates for bidding on and managing construction projects. A bump-out extends the size of your home by a small amount. It is similar to a home addition (often requiring full foundation), but since you are not adding an entirely new room, a bump-out involves a smaller investment. In the context of your kitchen remodel, adding 20 to 30 percent of the total cost might not be a significant extension of your budget. On the other hand, it might give you all the space you need to make your kitchen dream come true. If you were considering moving to a new home to get a bigger kitchen, this may be a reasonable cost alternative (moving is expensive!). An average fitted kitchen costs anywhere from $5,000 to $125,000, when built from scratch. A remodel of an existing area costs between $13,275 to $37,500. Every year the International Builder’s Trade Show features a remodeled home as a showcase during the tradeshow. In 2018 Signature Kitchens was selected as the kitchen design team on this…
