La Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana, Movilidad y Protección Civil planea la instalación de una Base de Operaciones del Grupo Urbano de Fuerzas Especiales (GUFE) en las inmediaciones de la ex estación del ferrocarril, del centro de la ciudad.
Al dar a conocer lo anterior, el titular de la Secretaría, maestro Raúl Ávila Ibarra, dijo que vecinos de la colonia Unión le mostraron su interés por la instalación de la base de la Policía Municipal en ese lugar.


Ello, luego de participar en un tequio general en el marco del programa “Limpiemos Oaxaca” el cual se realizó el sábado en dicha colonia.


Al efectuar un recorrido por la colonia, que abarca las inmediaciones de la antigua estación del ferrocarril, observaron que algunas áreas de ésta han sido habilitados para impartir diversos talleres culturales.


En ese sentido, ofrecieron uno de éstos espacios para ser habilitado como Base de Operaciones del Grupo Urbano de Fuerzas Especiales (GUFE) para dar mayor seguridad en la zona.
Los vecinos dijeron que al tratarse de un área abierta y al ser paso de personas de diversas colonias e incluso de la agencia de San Martín Mexicapan, es necesario que haya mayor vigilancia, por lo cual propusieron la instalación de la base policial.


En ese sentido, el maestro Raúl Ávila Ibarra, indicó que las acciones de prevención delito deben llevarse a cabo con coordinación con los vecinos, quienes conocen la problemática en sus asentamientos.
Precisó que con estas acciones, la Policía Municipal está más cerca de la ciudadanía y atiende de manera inmediata los llamados de auxilio, destacando que en breve también entrará en funciones la estación de Policía en la zona de la ex rampa del Mercado de Abasto.
